  • Name and describe the first four presidents of the US. Who were they and what kind of men were they? What were some of their accomplishments? Who do you think was the best early president?

The first president George Washington was the person who earned trust from all people. His reputation was so high both as general and president. The second president was John Adams. He made an Alien and Sedition Act which made the immigrants condition stricter. The third president, Thomas Jefferson, was a republican who wanted individual states to have more power. He is well known as a president who expanded the land of America by Louisiana purchase, and who wrote the Declaration of Independence. Lastly the fourth president James Madison is a person who wrote the Bill of Rights. Also his wife, Dolley Madison is well known as a first women who saved the painting of George Washington when British army burned the White House

The first president of America was George Washington. He had the highest trust of the people from his reputation as general. One of the famous action he took was stopping Whiskey Rebellion by leading his army to them. What Whiskey Act is taxing whiskey 25% more which caused much trouble for south since they drank mostly whiskey. Many Americans wanted him to be president of America until he dies but he did not want that to happen since he wanted American people to be independent. The second president of America was John Adams. He was the only federalist president for a while and he made the Alien and Sedition Act which gave powers to deport foreigners and also made immigrants harder to vote.

He gave quite specific circumstance of Whiskey Rebellion. Whiskey was very popular commodity at that time period. After the taxation on whiskey, farmers suffered the most. But soon they had to disperse because since George Washington showed up with his army, no one wanted to be hostile against him.

Week 5: The Early Presidents Empty Re: Week 5: The Early Presidents

The first 4 president of United States is George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. My favorite president of 4 is defiantly George Washington. He won a vote of the Electoral College unanimously which was the only and the last time it happened in America. He dedicated himself to American Independence. He had not only served as a leader of the American Army, but when he became president, he had Jefferson and Adams, who are completely opposite to each other, worked close to him to listen both sides. He had a capability to become another “ King George III” however he came down after serving as a president for 2 terms which I think is a really wise decision.

The first four presidents of the United States are George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the last is James Madison. I think George Washington was the best of these. George Washington is nicknamed America's father. He was born in 1732 in Virginia as the son of a wealthy family. He grew up to join the Virginia army and fight against the French allies. George Washington has done many things since becoming president. At that time society had a serious conflict between federalists and anti-federalists. He relieved the conflict by equipping people with balance between them. In addition, people such as taxpayers responded strongly and protected citizens' safety. As a result, he made the United States a stable nation. After that, he retires after two presidents. Because he was worried about long-term power. In the United States, there is an implicit rule that the presidency should be limited to two times. He can still be seen anywhere in the United States for a dollar and is called the best president.

Reply to Jaeho
He had enough influence in the next presidential election. However, as Jae Ho said, he stopped in twice. And he tried to be equal to both political parties. This equality also affected the party of the next president. He worked only for America's democracy and freedom and was not greedy.
